This is the gateway page of my anchor text test.
This page, over time, will feature various links, of different types, and by the ranking of page B we should get a good idea about the ranking weight behind each of these links.
Here is the first link blue ball widgets.
This first standard anchor text link acts as the control as it is widely considered the simplest way to link and the most effective for achieving rankings for a particular keyword - in this case "blue bell widget press". This keyword has a low level of competition and will not cause any problems when analysing the effectiveness of the link in question.
Once this page, and page B, have been indexed we expect to see this page at number one in the search engine rankings on google.co.uk for a UK only search. If page B's ranking changes when we change the type and format of the link above then we will be able to analyse the strength of that type of link.
I am aware that there are many variables which i cannot control, or haven’t controlled, but these will all play a factor in determining the way Google treats links.
